Hey there everybody! It's been a busy busy weekend here in the Hamilton house. Lots of much needed rain, a little date night with my sweetie, a super-fun baby shower, and a semi-quiet Sunday with the family. Whew! I even got a little time to do some sewing and scrapping. Gotta love "me" time!
Tuesday is National Night Out and we are really looking forward to it! Last year was tons of fun and I got to meet some of the people in my community. The kids got a kick out of the dance performances and the music too. This year I have been asked to photograph the event so I can't wait! If there is a National Night Out in your community I highly recommend attending, it's a great way to get to know your neighbors and make a few friends! :)

I really loved the Lorax. Such a cute movie! I think I would be stoked to see a forest of candy-colored truffula trees. So today I got a package from ebay (my secret addiction... ok, maybe not so secret). I had a feeling it was the fabric I ordered for an upcoming newborn shoot and I was right. With a squeal of glee I pulled it out of the box and fur went flying! Long, fine, aqua-colored fibers scattered all over the floor, the couch, and me. It was already nearly time to get my youngest two from school, so I folded my new treasure and put it in the closet before rushing out the door.
When the kids walked in they noticed the aqua "leaves" immediately. My youngest cried "what is that?" To which I replied "Truffula leaves. I got a Truffula tree today!" They both stared at me with wide eyes and started to look around... presumably to spot the new tree. My 8 year old gave his little sister a skeptical look and proclaimed that there are NO Truffula trees. She just put her bag down and grinned at him. "Uh huh, look in there!" She had opened my prop closet door and spotted the neatly folded fabric. I can't wait to use my new "Truffula leaves"! :) I honestly never thought I would blog... ever! I have found that I like the idea of recording my stories in a way that others can share them with me if they wish. I am not sure what all will end up archived in this blog, but here's to the start of a new adventure! I hope you will enjoy the journey with me. :)
