Life is a series of beginnings.
I still remember the day I found out I was pregnant with my first child. There was such a flood
of emotions, all at the same time! I took up scrapbooking and invested in a better camera because
I wanted to remember EVERYTHING. Maternity and newborn photography wasn't really a "thing" then,
but I made regular appointments at the photography studio in town and I must have taken a
million pictures myself! Being military, we were not allowed to photograph the birth of our baby. We
were heartbroken, and to this day the lack of birth photos, and the absence of elegant and timeless maternity and
newborn portraits make this momma's heart incredibly sad. My desire to make sure my clients have
beautiful images and heirlooms to remember these fleeting moments in their lives is made stronger by my
regret over not having them to look back on with my children.
There is nothing more rewarding than showing a woman just how incredible she is, watching her light up
with the realization that her body is amazing! Marveling at her strength as she works to
bring her baby earthside, and capturing those first moments when they finally meet is something I never tire of.
I seriously can't tell you what a blessing it is to snuggle those sweet babies, and gently pose and photograph
those tiny features, preserving each little detail for his or her parents to look back on as they grow and
change. Some day you will walk into your home after your child's graduation, relax into your favorite
chair... and look up at a gorgeous portrait of your sweet baby, just 8 days old, snuggled in your arms.
I LOVE that I get to be part of that.
