I had the honor of documenting a beautiful and empowering breech birth at a birth center. C. was pregnant with her second baby and had planned to deliver at the hospital with an OB. Due to Finn’s presentation at 37 weeks, the OBs recommended a c-section. After researching her options and seeking the advice of her doula, C met with the midwives and changed her plans. A little over a week after meeting her midwives, C. went into labor on her own. With a powerful resolve and determination, C. labored with the support of her midwives, doula, and photographer. Utilizing the birth stool, soothing water, and nitrous oxide to cope with labor, she delivered Finn. C. decided to share her birth story with other moms that discover their baby is breech at term. This was a sweet surprise engagement that was posed to the mom-to-be as a maternity session. It was a bit touch & go planning with her soon-to-be fiance without letting the cat out of the bag, but it was a blast!
